Best of the Development Academy

The Derby County Wolves (Michigan) and Crossfire Premier (Washington) are the only clubs averaging 2.00 or more points per game in both age groups of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, which moved into the final month of the regular season with the Spring Showcase kicking off on Friday and continuing through Tuesday at the Sarasota Polo Grounds in Sarasota, Fla.

The Wolves -- part of the Michigan Wolves' program whose academy are sponsored by English club Derby County -- has the No. 1 U-17/18 team in the overall standings, while their U-15/16 ranks No. 4 in points per game.

The Wolves' U-17/18 team is led by Shane Lyons, who has scored 25 goals in 25 games and will play for Oakland in the fall.

The Crossfire's rank fifth and seventh, respectively, in the overall U-17/18 and U-15/16 standings, respectively. The U-17/18s feature Wake Forest recruit Anthony Arena and Kelyn Rowe, who has verbally committed to UCLA in 2010.
