With more than a month to go before the AC Milan-Chelsea match, the first soccer game at M&T Bank Stadium, the NFL's Baltimore Ravens have sold more than 60,000 tickets for the game -- the
most of any venue for the six-city World Football Challenge.
The match on July 24 is part of the World Football Challenge
, a six-city
round-robin tournament being played in the United States this summer.
"We could not be more pleased with the reaction our community has had to bringing an international soccer
match to Baltimore," said Ravens vice president of ticket sales and operations Baker Koppelman
. "Reaching 60,000 tickets sold is a significant milestone, but
we have more work to do. To reach a sellout would be a tremendous statement for Baltimore and put us in a strong position to host future high-profile events."
M&T Bank Stadium, one
of 45 stadiums on U.S. Soccer's shortlist for the 2018/2022 World Cups, has a capacity of 71,008.
