National Cup VIII champs crowned

Teams from eight different states claimed boys titles at U.S. Club Soccer's National Cup VIII Finals at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex in Virginia Beach, Va.

North Carolina's Jamestown SC Jammers Gold was the only club with multiple teams playing in Tuesday's championship, winning the U-16 Premier title and finishing second to the Jacksonville Fury in the U-15 Premier division.

Perennial national contender St. Louis Scott Gallagher captured the U-16 Super Group national championship with a 3-1 victory over CRSC Brigade (Calif.).

The most exciting final resulted in Ironbound SC Fury (N.J.) claiming the U-13 Super Group national championship with a 5-3 victory over Chicago G-Force.

"We worked hard for this, so we're going to enjoy this moment," said Ironbound SC Fury head coach Omid Namazi, the former indoor star.

The girls event begins Friday and will also take place in conjunction with the National Collegiate Showcase.
