Sounders launch youth program

Seattle Sounders FC, MLS's widely popular first-year team, will launch regional training centers across the state of Washington this fall in its first youth soccer initiative in partnership with Washington Youth Soccer.

Top players will gather together once a week to train at regional training centers in five locations. The program is intended to provide opportunities for players regardless of their current affiliation and residence.

A state pool of players will be selected for each designated age group.  The ODP/Sounders FC youth team pool will populate travel teams.

In 2010, the Sounders FC will form teams to apply to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.
