U.S. takes fifth at U-18 Milk Cup

The USA survived an eight-round shootout and defeated Israel in the fifth-place game in the U-18 Elite division at the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland.

The Americans finished with two draws -- 1-1 against Germany and 1-1 against Israel -- and one loss -- 2-1 to Denmark.

Northern Ireland won the tournament with a 2-0 win against Denmark in the final.

California's South Coast Bayern won both of its first-round games in the U-18 Premier division, then fell to FC Porto in a shootout in the quarterfinals.
