Toluca's star forward Raul Mancilla
has battled a left leg injury in the early season that has limited his playing time. But Mancilla could make his Concacaf Champions League debut against
D.C. United on Wednesday (Fox Soccer Channel & Telefutura, 8 pm ET). After sitting out two games, Mancilla played 39 minutes over the weekend.
"I'm continuing to work hard to
try and score a goal. I haven't done so this season. Of course I've only played a game and a half but I'm not anxious or frustrated," Mancilla said. "As long as the team is playing well,
I'll get my opportunities."
Last season, Mancilla led the Mexican First Division with 14 goals. And he scored 13 goals during the 2008 Apertura season. "I want to get back to
the level where I was at," Mancilla said. "Injuries have cost me some playing time but the important thing is that the team continue to play well."
