Inter Charge Over AC Milan

In the first ever Milan derby played in August, Inter Milan trounced AC Milan 4-0. After an even start, Inter unlocked AC Milan's defense with some slick passing around the box that freed Thiago Motta to curl a shot past Marco Storari to make it 1-0 Inter. Gennaro Gattuso then brought new striker Samuel Eto'o down in the box to produce a penalty and give Inter a 2-0 lead.

Gattuso was sent off later in the half for another reckless tackle. And Inter took advantage of Gattuso's absence. Industrious defender Maicon finished a one-two with Milito with a clinical finish to make it 3-0 before halftime. In the second half, Inter continued to dominate. In the 68th minute, Dejan Stankovic unleashed one of his trademark shots from distance that found its way to the top corner of the goal.
