Bradley, Gladbach ousted from German Cup

[AMERICANS ABROAD] After sitting out the last three league games, Michael Bradley started and went 90 minutes for Borussia Moenchengladbach and was yellow-carded as it fell, 1-0, in the German Cup to second division MSV Duisburg. Americans in England didn't fare well either.

Defender Jonathan Spector went 120 minutes for West Ham in its 3-1 overtime loss at Bolton in the English League Cup. Forward Mike Grella, with third-tier Leeds, entered in the 81st minute in a 1-0 loss to Liverpool.

Back in Germany, goalkeeper David Yelldell helped Koblenz to a 4-2 win over fellow second division squad Energie Cottbus in second-round German Cup play.
