On Tuesday, the Houston Dynamo's Eddie Robinson
started and played for the first time since last Nov. 26. The defender, who had offseason surgery on his left knee, didn't know
if he would be able to contribute at all this season. But the Dynamo's 5-1 win over Panama's Arabe Unido in the Concacaf Champions League provided the perfect stage for his comeback.
"This was a perfect night to come back," said Robinson. "It wasn't hot, it was a fun game. I enjoyed it and I just have to keep working. I wasn't sure a couple months
ago if I was going to be able to contribute to the team this year in any capacity. But now, I am definitely going to push the guys who are on the first team."
was also glad to see Robinson go well into the second half before being replaced by Bobby Boswell
. "It was really nice to see Eddie come back after such a long
lay off and have a good impact on both sides of the ball," Kinnear said. "I am very pleased tonight." Robinson even netted the game's opening goal, his first since 2007, when he got
an easy tap-in after a goalkeeping error.
