Revs' Veteran Ralston Out For Season

New England boosted its playoff chances with a 2-1 comeback win over Seattle last weekend but has lost captain and 14-year MLS veteran Steve Ralston for the season to a 19th minute knee injury.

"Steve Ralston is the heart and soul of this team and losing him is tough," said defender Jay Heaps said. Ralston suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Ralston, 35, appeared in 20 games this season, ranking second on the team in both goals (7) and assists (7). He is MLS's career leader in games played (378), games started (372), minutes (33,143), assists (135) and game-winning assists (41).
