Playing at high altitude in La Paz, Bolivia ended Brazil's 11-game winning streak on Sunday with a 2-1 qualifying victory. Edgar Olivares
headed home a corner in the 10th minute and
doubled the hosts' advantage in the 30th with a curling free kick. Brazil nabbed one back when Nilmar
headed home in the 70th minute.
Brazil coach Dunga
fielded a team of mostly reserves as the country, first place in the South American region, has already qualified for the World Cup. Bolivia was already out of
contention for the 2010 tournament. It wraps up qualifying play against last-place Peru in La Paz. The match could the last at La Plaz as FIFA could bar matches held above 8,000 feet without adequate
time preparation for visiting teams.
