The defending USL-1 champions Vancouver Whitecaps aim to overcome a 3-2 deficit from the first leg when they travel to the Montreal Impact for the second-leg of the final on Saturday (2:30 pm ET, live
on Fox Soccer Channel).
Vancouver recovered from a slow start this season to earn the final spot in the playoffs as the seventh seed after losing only one of their final 10 games of the year.
That form continued onto the postseason with wins at home in the opening legs of both rounds followed by draws on the road to advance to the championship series.
The Impact came into the
series performing extremely well for a fifth seed. Montreal had lost only one of its final eight games of the year and has since won all five playoff games, putting it on the verge of being the first
to finish the postseason perfect since the introduction of the two-leg, aggregate score series in the 2000 playoffs.
