Twelve teams from six preliminary tournaments will compete Saturday and Sunday in Washington, D.C., for a berth to represent the United States at the Volkswagen Junior Masters World Tournament in
South Africa.
The winner and runners-up of six regional tournaments qualified for the finals. The semifinals and championship game will take place at RFK Stadium.
Volkswagen,
an MLS sponsor, launched the Junior Masters, an under-12 tournament that will take place in May 2010, prior to the World Cup in South Africa.
The winning U.S. team will compete at next
year's finals in Cape Town against 19 other teams.
