Oguchi Onyewu plans to have surgery on Wednesday to repair a ruptured patellar tendon in his left knee. Onyewu
injured his knee while playing for the U.S. in last week's World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica.

will operate on Onyewu in Los Angeles, the U.S. Soccer Federation said Monday. Onyewu has appeared in just one of AC Milan's 10 competitive matches this season before getting hurt.
