Seattle Sounders coach Sigi Schmid
was admitted to Overlake Hospital on Thursday night after experiencing difficulty breathing. He was diagnosed
with pneumonia. According to the club, Schmid's condition was stabilized by Saturday and he was improving, although he remained hospitalized through Sunday.
Schmid coached the Columbus
Crew to the 2008 MLS title. In 2009, his first year with the Seattle, he guided the expansion club to the playoffs, where it lost in the first round to Houston.
