Women's support strong on second weekend

South Carolina drew the largest crowd of the weekend with a crowd of 4,347 fans, the largest ever for women's match in Stone Stadium history, on hand for its 1-0 loss to Wake Forest in the third round of the NCAA Division I Women's Tournament. The weekend was marked by large crowds at women's venues.

Stanford drew a sellout for its derby in the rain against Santa Clara, and Florida State drew the second largest crowd for an NCAA game at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

North Carolina's women's crowd was four times larger than the men's crowd a day later, and the UCLA women's crowd, the smallest of the eight third-round games, was nonetheless larger than the crowd for the Bruins' men's game on Sunday.
