Defender Spector, making his first start for West Ham United in three weeks, was taken down by Burnley's Robbie Blake for a penalty that led to the Hammers' fourth and decisive goal in their 5-3 win on Saturday. West Ham led 5-0 before Burnley rallied for three late goals. The win keeps the Hammers two points above the relegation zone. Hull City and Everton -- whose keeper Howard was beaten by an own goal and by Dirk Kuyt after Howard gave up a rebound -- are four and three points, respectively, above the drop zone. Aston Villa is in 6th place and Fulham is 10th place. Keeper Hahnemann saw his first EPL action of the season in Wolves' 1-0 loss to Birmingham.

GERMANY

Midfielder Bradley helped Gladbach end Schalke's seven-game unbeaten streak and moved up to 11th place. Injured Steve Cherundolo missed Hannover 96's 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich.

FRANCE
Carlos Bocanegra, Rennes (90 minutes), Lyon-Rennes 1-1

Bocanegra was yellow-carded in the first half and will be suspended for Rennes' next game.

PORTUGAL
Freddy Adu, Belenenses (sub, 10 minutes), Belenenses-Maritimo 2-2.

Adu made his second league appearance since his only start, in early October when he played 45 minutes before suffering an injury.

MEXICO
Defender Michael Orozco did not see action for San Luis, which was ousted from the Mexican playoffs by Toluca after a 1-0 second-leg loss. Orozco was a last-minute sub in San Luis' 1-0 first leg win. Tocula advanced thanks to a superior regular-season record.
