[TELEVISION WATCH] David Sternberg
, who oversaw the rise of Fox Soccer Channel, is leaving his position at Fox at the end of
Sternberg's departure ends a nearly 12-year career with the company. His most recent position was Fox National Cable Networks' executive vice president & chief operating
officer of emerging networks.
Fox's Emerging Networks Group is comprised of FUEL TV (action sports such as skateboarding and snowboarding), Fox Sports en Espanol as well as Fox
"David has been instrumental in the success of our emerging networks during his tenure at the company," said Rich Battista
President of Fox National Cable Networks. "He helped transform Fox Soccer Channel into the country's premier television home of domestic and international soccer; launched and grew FUEL TV into the
premier action sports network; and made Fox Sports en Espanol the leading Spanish-language cable sports network in the U.S. These networks are well positioned for future growth. We thank David for
his contributions and wish him all the best."
Fox Soccer Channel has grown to encompass soccer programming covering MLS, the English Premier League, Italy's Serie A and the UEFA
FSC's viewership has risen significantly since it began being rated by Nielsen on October 1, 2008
