Fort Lewis moves into final with 8-2 rout

[NCAA DIVISION II MEN] No. 1 seed Fort Lewis crushed LeMoyne, 8-2 and moved into Saturday's final of the NCAA Division II men's championship at the University of Tampa against Lees-McRae, which beat Lewis on penalty kicks after rallying from 2-0 down in the last five minutes of regulation to earn a 2-2 tie.

The Skyhawks broke open their game against LeMoyne with six unanswered goals in the second half to break open a game that was 2-1 in their favor at halftime.

David Barden led the Skyhawks with a hat trick after coming off of a foot injury just this week. Joe Barnd and Euan Purcell both added two goals, while Tom Settle had one goal and three assists.

Goalie Sean Paradise was the hero for Lees-McRae, stopping Lewis freshman Robert McGowan's penalty kick in the second half and again in the shootout.

Nestor Hernandez scored two goals in less than a minute to put Lewis ahead 2-0, but the Bobcats answered with goals from Grant Elder and Lee Squires in the final five minutes.
