Bayern crushes dismal Juventus in Italy

[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Bayern Munich knocked Juventus of the UEFA Champions League with a sensational 4-1 win in Turin on Tuesday and moved into the knockout stage. Needing a win in Turin, the German club came back from a goal down -- getting the equalizer from goalie Hans-Joerg Butt -- to crush Juve, whose Brazilians Diego and Felipe Melo were booed by the Stadio Olimpico fans after dismal efforts. Real Madrid, AC Milan and surprise CSKA Moscow claimed other remaining berths in the second round that were up for grabs on Tuesday.

Frenchman David Trezeguet put Juve ahead in the 19th minute but gave away a penalty that Butt put away 11 minutes later.

Bayern surged ahead in the second half on goals by Ivica Olic, Mario Gomez and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk.
