CONCACAF UNDER-20 WOMEN'S QUALIFYING: Shorthanded USA rallies to win final

Playing with 10 players, the USA rallied from a goal down to defeat Canada, 3-2, and win the CONCACAF U-20 WomenÆs Final Qualifying Tournament.

The wild match saw an early goal from Amy Rodriguez in the eighth minute, but the Americans lost central defender Carrie Dew to a red card just 41 minutes into the match leaving them to play the entire second half a woman down. Canada scored two goals in a five-minute span to take the lead in the 61st minute, but the USA rallied for an equalizer by substitute Jessica Rostedt in the 72nd minute. Tim SchulzÆs Americans then got the game-winner from Lauren Cheney with eight minutes remaining.

Host Mexico got three goals in the second half to defeat Jamaica, 4-1, to earn CONCACAFÆs third and final berth to next summerÆs Under-20 World Championship.
