Aston Villa is very much looking like a candidate for the English Premier League's top four, winning for the second time in four days on the road. After a 1-0 at defending champion Manchester
United, goalie Brad Friedel
picked up another shutout in a 2-0 win at Sunderland that moved Villa into third place, a point ahead of Arsenal, which has two
games in hand.
Friedel had little to do at old Trafford on Saturday, but he was called up to make a fine save on Andy Reid
's shot in the 37th
minute with Villa leading 1-0 at the Stadium of Light.
Goalie Marcus Hahnemann
was the sole survivor from Wolves' 1-0 win at Tottenham to start at Manchester United and dropped a 3-0
decision that ended his club's win streak at two games.
