Women's Professional Soccer will open its second season the weekend of April 10-11 with four games, including a match between expansion teams Philadelphia and Atlanta.
The later start
will allow teams to being in warmer weather and avoid playing on the Easter holiday weekend.
The Philadelphia Independence, who will host the Atlanta Beat on April 10, will play its home
games at West Chester University's John A. Farrell Stadium, which seats 7,500 fans.
Atlanta expects to play its first home game in May at its new stadium built at Kennesaw State
University. Home openers for the Los Angeles Sol and Atlanta will be announced soon.
WPS plans to keep its same playoff format, which rewards the regular-season champion with a bye into
the final, but replace its postseason all-star game with a mid-year event. 2010 WPS Home Openers: Saturday, April 10
