Jackson and Sinclair take Canadian awards

Simeon Jackson has been named Canada's Male Soccer Player of the Year, while Christine Sinclair took the female award for the fifth year in a row. Jackson was born in Jamaica and raised in Mississauga, Ont. The 22-year-old striker helped Gillingham secure promotion to League One (third division) in England. He played seven games for Canada. Sinclair led WPS's FC Gold Pride in goals with six and scored four goals in seven international games, leading Canada in goals for the ninth time in her 10 seasons.
