Huckel steps down as director of museum and archives

Jack Huckel has left the National Soccer Hall of Fame, stepping down as its director of museum and archives, a role he held for almost 10 years.

Huckel's departure leaves the financially strapped organization with just two employees. The museum closed regular operation in September, and the staff was reduced from eight persons to three.

Huckel served as the point person for the annual balloting and induction of Hall of Famers.

Huckel, 63, will remain active in soccer. He serves the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as secretary and is running for election to its board as vice president of communications and marketing.
