Excelsior Mouscron, which has played in the Jupiler Pro League since 1996, has quit Belgium's top-flight league in the middle of the season.
The club is bankrupt with debts of more than
$1 million, and its players refused to play its last two games. The players, among 100 salaried employees at the club, will become free agents.
