Manuel Garcia Quillon, Liverpool manager
Rafael Benitez's agent, ruled out a move to Juventus, which is on the verge
of firing Coach
Ciro Ferrera.
"Benítez to Juventus? In football you never know," Quillon said. "Right now, that hypothesis
is not correct because he is a very important figure [at Anfield]. The idols of the fans are
[Steven] Gerrard,
[Fernando]
Torres and Benítez. I don't know what will happen in four to five months. In football, everything changes quickly, but the basic principle is that Rafa still has a four-year
contract with Liverpool."
Dutchman
Guus Hiddink is believed to have turned down the Juve job, but it remains to be seen if Benitez could be
tempted by a move to Turin. He is unhappy with the situation at Liverpool, which lacks the resources to make the moves necessary to turn the team around.
