ALGARVE CUP: USA-Denmark Game Report

The U.S. womenÆs national team crushed Denmark, 5-0, in its second match at the Algarve Cup in Portugal.

The five-goal margin is the largest ever in an Algarve Cup match against an opponent other than Portugal. Heather OÆReilly scored twice, the first two-goal game of her career, while Abby Wambach, Kristine Lilly and Natasha Kai also tallied for the U.S.

LillyÆs goal was the 108th of her career, moving her into sole possession of second-place on the womenÆs all-time international scoring list behind former teammate Mia Hamm (158 career goals).

The Americans close out group play against France on Monday.
