Englishman Chris Whalley
, who led Lees-McRae to the 2009 NCAA Division II national
championship game, has been named the new head coach at Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Whalley, only the sixth head coach in UWM history, spent five seasons at Lees-McRae, compiling a 72-22-12
"I am extremely excited to take over such a prestigious program that has had such fantastic success over the years," Whalley said. "I am hoping we can work very hard to help the
team improve and take the program back to its place of prominence in the city, state and nationally."
Whalley also served as the head coach of the PDL's West Virginia Chaos. He came
from England to play collegiately at D2 Mercyhurst.
