Gomez opens mark in Mexico

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Herculez Gomez scored his first goal since joining Mexican First Division club Puebla in its 1-1 tie at Atlante on Sunday.

Gomez, who joined Puebla from the Kansas City Wizards after six seasons in MLS, scored shortly after halftime on a header off a pass from Luis Miguel Noriega.

Atlante looked set to fall for the third time in four games in the Torneo Bicentenario 2010 when substitute Rafael Marquez Lugo equalized in the 89th minute.
