Goodson recalled from Norway

[USA] Clarence Goodson, whose goal was a rare bright spot in last month's 3-1 loss to Honduras and who is pushing for what would be the fourth center back spot on the national team for the 2010 World Cup, has been given permission by his Norwegian club IK Start to join the U.S. national team in training for next Wednesday's friendly against El Salvador in Tampa (TV: ESPN Classic, TeleFutura, live, 7 p.m. ET).

Goodson looks to be battling with Chad Marshall for the fourth spot behind Oguchi Onyewu (if healthy), Carlos Bocanegra and Jay DeMerit.

The other 23 players at the training camp at the Home Depot Center are comprised entirely of domestic-based players.

Kansas City goalkeeper Kevin Hartman joined the team last week after Zach Thornton suffered a hip flexor strain.
