Dallas youngsters edge Revs

[MLS] FC Dallas defeated the New England Revolution, 2-0, Tuesday morning in a game at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The match was the fourth of the spring for FC Dallas, which finished the game with three teenagers playing in attack: 19-year-old Brek Shea and 18-year-olds Bryan Leyva and Ruben Luna. For the Revs, it was their first game of the spring.

An early goal from Atiba Harris and a late strike by Honduran Marvin Chavez decided the game.

On the first goal, Shea drove a low cross to the back post, where Harris finished low past Revolution goalkeeper Preston Burpo.

On the second goal, Burpo stopped Luna on a one-on-one challenge, but Chavez slid the rebound into the empty net.

Cory Gibbs and Edgaras Jankauskas were not available for the Revolution because of quad injuries, while Matt Reis and Taylor Twellman did not make the trip to Orlando.

FC Dallas will be in action Friday against Toronto FC at the inaugural Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic.
