Wayne Bridge gets last laugh

[ENGLAND]  Never has a pre-game shake of hands been so closely watched. Chelsea's John Terry and Manchester City's Wayne Bridge met Saturday for the first time since revelations of Terry’s alleged affair with the mother of his former England teammate's child. Would they shake hands during the pre-game greetings?

Terry held out his hand but Bridge refused to shake it, passing by the Chelsea player and shaking the hand of a child in a Chelsea uniform at Terry's side.

Bridge, who quit the England national team, had to leave late in the the game with a groin injury but got the last laugh at Stamford Bridge as Manchester City rallied for a 4-2 win and complete its first series sweep over the Blues since 1957.

"I hope Wayne Bridge can play for the national team," Manchester City manager Carlo Ancelotti said. "I am sorry for the situation because every player wants to play for his country. But it is his decision. I am happy for Wayne Bridge. It was a good performance from the team and he played well."

Argentine Carlos Tevez scored twice in his first game back since returning from Argentina to be with his wife following the premature birth of their daughter, and Craig Bellamy also had two goals.

Chelsea finished with nine players after Juliano Belletti and Michael Ballack were sent off.

The loss dropped the Blues' lead over Manchester United to one point and over Arsenal to only three.
