Fairfield and Vanderbilt announce incoming classes

FAIRFIELD. Coach Jim O’Brien signed Carly Beyar (South Hempstead, N.Y.), Shannon Fay (Sayville, N.Y.) and Jacquelyn Ley (Marine, Minn.).
 
“With the loss of only four solid seniors the future looks bright for 2010 and beyond,” said O’Brien.  “All three of our talented incoming freshmen recruits are very experienced at playing in a high level of competition and will compete for starting positions immediately upon arrival."

VANDERBILT. Coach Ronnie Woodard added six players, headed by goalkeeper Alexa Levick (Wyoming, Ohio) and defender Claire Romaine (Wake Forest, N.C.). Also signed were Caffrey Brooks (Mission Hills, Kan.), Duggan Hahn (Knoxville, Tenn.), Sarah Hook (Birmingham, Ala.) and Megan Schneir (Solon, Ohio).      
 
“The 2010 class provides a lot of diversity in terms of positions the kids play,” said Woodard. “It was really important to us that we added some more depth to our roster, in addition to adding quality players into the mix.)
