Northwest rivals end up scoreless

[MLS] Seattle and Vancouver (USSF Div. II) gave their fans a preview of what will ensue next season when the Whitecaps join MLS.

Neither team scored in a match notable for 16 offside calls that killed promising opportunities and a crowd of 3,895 that included hundreds of Seattle fans who made the trip across the border.

Keepers Kasey Keller and Jay Nolly played the full 90 minutes and each made two saves.

In an interview during MLS Cup week, Sounders minority owner Drew Carey referred to the pending rivalry between Seattle, Vancouver and Portland as the "Triangle of Death."

The Sounders close the third corner Thursday night when they play the Timbers at Qwest Field.
