Fiorentina haunted by bad call

[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Fiorentina's 20-year-old Montenegrin Stevan Jovetic scored two goals 10 minutes apart in the second half but Dutchmen Mark van Bommel and Arjen Robben both scored from distance to give Bayern Munich the two away goals it needed to go through to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League despite its 3-2 loss in Florence.

Bayern won the first leg, 2-1, on a contested goal by substitute striker Miroslav Klose in the 89th minute. The Polish-born star admitted afterward he was offside.

"The result of the first leg is upsetting," Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey said. "If it was 1-1, things would have been different tonight. We didn't achieve our goal, but I don't think that's our fault. We really put on a great performance and we can take a lot of pride in that."

Added Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli, "We gave up a goal that shouldn't have counted for anything, and instead we're here talking about getting eliminated by a goal that was two meters offside."
