[U.S. UNDER-17 WOMEN] The Ponte Vedra Storm (Morgan Brian and Kaili Torres) andDallas Texans (Clarissa Wedemeyer and Abby Smith) are the only clubs with two players on the U.S. under-17 women’snational team that begins Concacaf qualifying Wednesday in Costa Rica for the 2010 Under-17  Women’s World Cup.

Brian, the lone holdover from the 2008 team that finished second atthe world championships, is the most capped player at the U-17 level on the roster, having played 12 international matches and scored seven goals.

All games at the CONCACAF U-17Women’s Championships will be played on artificial turf at Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium in Alajuela, just outside of the capital of San Jose.

The USA, the 2008 Concacaf U-17champion, faces Haiti, the Cayman Islands and host Costa Rica, the 2008 Concacaf runner-up, in group play. The top two teams in each group advance to the semifinals, which will be played on March18.

The two semifinal winner will advance to the world championship later in the year in Trinidad & Tobago.
