CSKA Moscow stuns Sevilla

[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] First, Real Madrid. Now, Sevilla. Only Barcelona of Spain's three entrants in the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League remains alive and it isn't assured of beating VfB Stuttgart (TV: Fox Soccer Channel, Wednesday, 3 pm ET).

Goalie Andres Palop was the goat for Sevilla, allowing Japanese Keisuke Honda's long free kick to fly into his goal and give CSKA Moscow a 2-1 win in Seville and 3-2 victory on aggregate.

Fact is, Sevilla was in trouble before Honda's goal.

Sevilla had opted to field only one striker, Luis Fabiano, and left Alvaro Negredo and Frederic Kanoute on the bench.

It also missed several chances to go ahead in the second leg against CSKA, whose 2010 league season has not yet begun.

Tomas Necid put CSKA ahead in the 39th minute lead, but Argentine Diego Perotti equalized for Sevilla two minutes later.

CSKA has never reached the final eight before.
