Rick Davis resigns as national executive director

[AYSO] Rick Davis, the former U.S. national team star, has announced his resignation as national executive director of American Youth Soccer Organization, effective May 11.

Davis, who was one of the first young American players signed by the New York Cosmos during their heyday, was the Director of Programs when he was named acting national executive director in 2006.

Tom Tobin, the Director of Programs & Volunteer Services, is the Interim National Executive Director.

“The past seven years as a member of the National Support & Training Center staff has been a wonderful experience for me," said Davis in a letter to the AYSO National Board of Directors and Executive Membership. "I have had the opportunity to work with both dedicated, talented staff members and volunteers, all devoutly committed to furthering the vision of the organization by enriching children’s lives.”
