English FA boss quits after nine months in charge

English FA chief executive Ian Watmore has resigned. Watmore, 51, who came to the FA from the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills, was appointed in February 2009 but joined in June. Watmore succeeded Brian Barwick, who left the FA at the end of 2008, and with Watmore's departure the FA has now has lost six chief executives in just over a decade.
