Veterans waived on eve of season

[MLS] Pat Noonan became the fourth player with more than 140 regular-season appearances to be waived this week as MLS clubs pare their teams down to become compliant with 2010 league regulations. Noonan was waived by Colorado, which had picked him up from Columbus last summer. He had enjoyed a succesful stint at New England but never regained his form after returning from a short stay in Norway.

Carey Talley, Chivas USA, 12 seasons, 299 games
Simon Elliott, San Jose, 8 seasons, 228 games
Pat Noonan, Colorado, 7 seasons, 152 games
Jon Busch, Chicago, 8 seasons, 147 games
