In need of midfield help after losing Steve Ralston to AC St. Louis and trading Jeff Larentowicz to the ColoradoRapids, the New England Revolution is close to signing Serbian attacking midfielder Marko Perovic.
Perovic, 26, spent nine years with Red Starbefore moving to Switzerland with FC Basel. He played for the Revs in the middle of midfield and on the left wing in preseason.
If he signs with New England — as is believed to be hiswish — he wouldn’t be available for Saturday’s 2010 MLS opener at Los Angeles.
