MLS has completed new stadiums or has made progress on stadium projects in most key markets. The notable exception: Washington, D.C. And MLS Commissioner DonGarber isn’t happy.

“I am tired of going down to meetings and getting my back slapped and [going to] faux press conferences with mayors and local city officials to have thembacktrack on that because they can’t get out of their own way,” he said during a media teleconference on Tuesday. “And quite frankly, it’s frustrating. And at some point, we are doing to have to dosomething about it.”

Garber said he didn’t know what more MLS can do to have the politicians in that community understand D.C United’s relevance and commitment to the community. In its15th season, D.C. United still plays at RFK Stadium.
