[MLS] Toronto FC and the Colorado Rapids completed their third trade of the offseason when TFC shipped U.S. international Marvell Wynne to the Rapids for midfielder Nick LaBrocca and their third-round pick in the 2011 SuperDraft.
Wynne, the first pick by
New York in the 2006 SuperDraft, earned his third cap for the USA in January and was a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic team that competed in Beijing in 2008.
LaBrocca was the the
35th-overall pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft but saw increasing playing time over the last two seasons.
"The team is looking forward to having Nick join the club, and we are excited for
him to get here to begin working with the team," said Toronto head coach Preki. "He's a consistent player and will make our midfield a lot stronger. Marvell is
a great athlete and we wish him all the best, he's been a big part of this club and I'm sure he will be missed by the fans."
In January, the Rapids traded midfielder Jacob Peterson to TFC for allocation money and a month later the acquired a third-round SuperDraft pick in 2011 in exchange for defender Ty Harden.
