[SAN FRANCISCO MEN] Steve Negoesco, who led the University of San Francisco to five national titles during a career that
spanned 39 years (1962-2000), was the first soccer person inducted in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame when he was honored as part of the class of 2010.
Others inducted were Oakland
Raiders owner Al Davis, Olympic gold medalist figure skater Brian Boitano, Oakland A's shortstop Bert Campaneris and San Francisco 49ers receiver R.C. Owens.
Negoesco, 85, won 540 games at USF and was a leading
figure in promoting soccer in the Bay Area.
That's wonderful. Steve deserves all the accolades and appreciation there is. Congratulation Steve.
