[AMERICANS ABROAD] Jozy Altidore returned to the Hull City lineup and helped the Tigers win, 2-0, at Fulham to pull
even with West Ham in the relegation zone. Altidore was taken down for the penalty -- a clumsy challenge by Fulham's Chris Smalling -- that led to the first
goal.
With Jonathan Spector again starting on the backline, the Hammers fell at home to Stoke City. The 1-0 loss may mean the end for West Ham
manager Gianfranco Zola.
Elsewhere, Brad Friedel endured a long day in goal as Aston Villa lost to Chelsea, 7-1.
Steve Cherundolo also suffered a lop-sided loss, but the right back scored Hannover 96's only goal with a 20-yard free kick in a 4-1 defeat to Cologne FC.
The only other American starter besides Altidore to win on Saturday was Jose Francisco Torres, who went 70 minutes in Pachuca's 1-0 victory over Morelia.
