1. Busch might return to work
Jon Busch might not be out of work long. The 2008 MLS Goalie of the Year, dropped by the Chicago Fire a week ago in favor untested Andy Dykstra, could land at San Jose, where he'd push incumbent Joe Cannon for the starting job.

Noonan reunited with Schmid
Pat Noonan, another former U.S. national team player let go on the eve of the 2010 season, trained with the
Seattle Sounders on Monday. If he signs with Seattle, he'd be reunited with Sigi Schmid, whom he played for at Columbus in 2008 after returning from Norway.
3. Palmer stuck in Kingston
Houston opens at home Thursday against Real Salt Lake (TV: ESPN2, live, 9 p.m. ET), which may been too soon
for Jamaican Lovel Palmer to rejoin the team. Palmer was signed as a possible replacement for the departed Ricardo Clark
at holding midfielder and returned home after a solid preseason to get his visa.
