[AMERICANS ABROAD] Midfielder Maurice Edu came on at halftime for Glasgow Rangers but couldn't help sway the momentum as his team suffered its
worst loss of the season. In England, Jay DeMerit and Kenny Cooper saw action for their second division teams.
Edu entered with Rangers down 3-1 in the 4-1
loss to seventh-place St Johnstone. Rangers still holds a 10 point lead over second-place Celtic.
DeMerit went the distance as 21st-place Watford fell, 3-1, to relegation threatened Crystal
Palace, for which former MLS star Stern John opened the scoring. Kenny Cooper was a late Plymouth Argyle sub in a scoreless game with Barnsley. Plymouth is in second-to-last
place.
It was Cooper’s fifth appearance, all off the bench, since arriving from Germany’s 1860 Munich in January. The striker has yet to score.
