[MLS] Pat Noonan has joined the Seattle Sounders, his fourth club in less than two years.
The former Indiana University forward scored 42 goals in five seasons with the New England Revolution but has struggled since returning from a brief stint at Norwegian club Aalesund.
"I'm excited that Pat Noonan was available and we were able to sign him," Sounders coach Sigi Schmid said in a press release. "My experience with him was a very good one in Columbus."
Noonan, 29, joined the Crew after a half season at Aalesund and scored once in 16 games.
Noonan, who has 14 caps for the USA, provides cover for the Sounders, who are without Nate Jaqua (on injured reserve with a lower abdomen injury).
In addition, forward Freddie Ljungberg's lower back has been bothering him since being hit by Finn Toni Stahl in the opener against Philadelphia and has not trained this week.
