Defending champions begin final push

[U.S. UNDER-20 WOMEN] U.S. under-20 women’s national team coach Jill Ellis will bring 26 players to a one-week training camp beginning Sunday at The Home Depot Center in preparation for the U-20 Women’s World Cup this summer in Germany.

Ellis will have one more domestic training camp after this in May, followed by a trip to Germany in June before she selects her 21-player roster to represent the USA.

The Final Draw for the tournament will take place on April 22 in Dresden.

The 16 finalists: host Germany, USA, Costa Rica and Mexico from Concacaf, Japan, North Korea and South Korea from Asia, Ghana and Nigeria from Africa, England, France, Sweden and Switzerland from Europe, New Zealand from Oceania, and Brazil and Colombia from South America.

The USA won the 2009 tournament in Chile.
